Exiting the woods
The heat on this particular day was brutal. One of those things where you think it won't hit you... until it does, and you start falling behind your own driving. Great opportunity for growth if you recognize it though.

Dust trails
This was one of the dryest and hottest runs I think I ever did at Dirtfish. It's brutal to drive in, but it does make for some cool photos with the way the dust trails.

SCCA Competition Licensing exam (2)
After exiting turn 3 or 4.

SCCA Competition Licensing exam
Doing this during the pandemic years was unfortunately a bit cumbersome, as having to have some kind of mask on in the car made the learning experience a bit stilted. That said, Proformance Racing School at Pacific Raceways has some incredible instructors and talented drivers. Between here and Dirtfish, the PNW is spoiled for chances to get good at this stuff. Learning here is also frankly incredible due to the rain in the PNW... you kind of can't avoid having to be decent in the wet. This was (IIRC) turn 3 or 4 on the course.

Eggs Benedict
Self explanatory.

Goodbye, Fooz!
Won this with Webs coworkers back in ~2009 or so. One of them managed to bring it all the way to Seattle... then gave it to me to handle. I was going to pass it off to someone else, but we're all older and frankly nobody needs a monkey this large. Wound up giving it to a FedEx employee.

Shrimp fettucine alfredo
Homemade pasta with local shrimp.

Red velvet galaxy cake
For my girlfriend's birthday, I opted to bake this year: a beet red velvet cake with a galaxy mirror glaze. I will never make this again... well, maybe if I vegan-ize it.

Happy Holidays
Family sweaters!

Atakilt Wat
Wanted to switch up flavor profiles for dinner tonight, so took a stab at... Ethiopian food? Atakilt Wat (potato, shallots, carrots, garlic, ginger, turmeric, cloves, cardamom, cumin, cabbage) on top of rice. Not bad, definitely tastes good.

Tomatillo experiments
It's a bit of work, but doing the work to boil and process them at home really does offer a deeper sauce.

Homemade pasta
That 7-egg-yolk recipe from French Laundry... I'm honestly not a fan, way heavier than pasta needs to be. But to each their own I guess.
