Exhaustion
We struggle up Mt. Fuji in a lightning storm, only to be told we need to descend immediately as the conditions were getting too dangerous. We were given 5 minutes to eat something and then told we needed to get a move on. Luckily, going down was easier than going up...

Finally reaching the top
We had the adventure - or misfortune - of climbing Mt. Fuji at night, in a lightning storm. The final torii gate at the top here was an eerie - but welcome - sight!

My office location... on an old map!
When we first moved to Shin-Nakano, we went to a neighborhood bar and had a few drinks. I noticed the map in the back was actually a historical map from shortly after WW2, which was given out to GIs after they were occupying Tokyo. The map included driving instructions for day trips, and street names in English. Our office was in Kyobashi then, so it was just interesting to see it on a historical map. My girlfriend actually managed to track down a copy for me, super interesting bit of history.

Packed freeway
Stuck in traffic on the way back from IKEA, which back then was only on the outskirts of Tokyo.

Busy city streets
Used to walk this path a lot when I first moved to Japan. Years later, still as busy as ever!

Analog Cafe
Purely a photo for myself - the vibe and colors are awesome.

A Pikachu burger
Girlfriend decided we had to visit some Pokemon-themed cafe. Burger was decent!

City of endless expanse
It is really hard to put into words just how much I love this city. One of my favorite shots I've ever taken of it - it just never ends and the activity is always on display.

Old-school Japanese newspaper machine
A dying breed as phones took over.

A crazy Mario model
Some department store was doing a promo and set up this display. Kind of cool!

Train tracks
I think I only took this photo for the framing.

Flower fields
I unfortunately forget exactly where this photo was taken, but the sight was stunning and I remember being somewhat in awe of just how far the fields stretched.
